My trip to The Museum of Photographic Arts pleased me. I enjoyed the museum and had a great time looking through each of the exhibits. It left me with two new outlooks. Those being “am I helping to make a change” and “am I being myself when it comes to my art” the exhibits made a lasting impression on me, and I was glad that I was able to experience that. The picture that inspired me to recreate was Taniya Cooksey’s piece “From Within what initial drew me in was the aesthetic and outfit choice, I really loved it. When I got closer, I noticed another depiction of Taniya that is blurred. This represents her finding and shaping herself into the person she currently is. Taniya shows us how to explore the depths of our imagination an essence by demonstrating this to us through her own journey. Taniya does exactly this in her photo as she explores her own mind and essence in efforts to find herself. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. I had been once before, last year and it did not disappoint me either time. I think it is important to continue going to museums because you can connect with the artwork much differently in person as opposed to just seeing it online or elsewhere. I’m now even more inclined to return to the museum and or recommend this museum to others because it is very interactive allowing you to not only see the art but read about its origins and the story behind it. I really loved the exhibits because they convey a much deeper message than just art for guest to look at in the museum.
